Nutech Medical buys former McCrory building near Hoover.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – (June 1, 2010) – Nutech Medical, Inc., the Homewood-based biotechnology firm, is expanding its corporate operations. Nutech has purchased the former McCrory Construction Company building, located on more than six acres off Rocky Ridge Lane, for its new headquarters. The sale price was $3.7 million.

"In the sixteen years since we created Nutech Medical, we've seen tremendous demand for our products in the United States and around the world," said president, Ken Horton. "As an Alabama company, we have always been committed to growing and operating our core business within our local community."

Nutech will move into the almost 25,000 square foot building later this month. The company will make several modifications including the creation of a cadaver lab, freezer room and a state of the art auditorium. It will also add generators and upgrade the heating and cooling systems.

Nutech has annual sales of $25 million. The company has a staff of 25 in Alabama and works with hundreds of independent contractors around the country. "This building triples our existing space, providing us with superior resources to better serve the needs of our customers as we continue to supply products that can enhance and save lives," said Horton.
